It's gross that Shang Tsung seems to be another example of this. Shao Kahn in 11 was a different story, they were a major part of the story mode, and that made it seem like they very much were originally part of the base roster and then turned into an extra charge for players. They were pretty obviously just DLC characters, with no presence in the story mode and no sign that they were cut content being sold for a premium. I was mostly fine with Darkseid and Goro as pre-order bonuses. I kind of get how having a shorter window to announce everything while still pushing a pre-order bonus character feels a bit more manipulative. The only major difference so far seems to be that the advertising started much closer to release. I'm mostly just not seeing anything more egregious then what we've seen from NetherRealm's marketing campaigns for their last three or so games. I never meant to imply you were the only one expressing disappointment, or that you're wrong for not liking what has been shown.
